When it’s cold outside, it’s only natural to want to know if you can prepare IsaLean® Shakes as a warm drink. The answer is yes! Drinking your IsaLean Shake warm is a great option to have on winter days when you are feeling extra chilly. However, there are a few important things to remember when you’re preparing a warm IsaLean Shake to have the best results.
Don’t Overheat Your Shake!
There’s a fine line between hot and too hot when preparing IsaLean Shakes. Water that’s heated to no more than 150 degrees Fahrenheit will work best. In the absence of a thermometer, try warming the water in a microwave for about 45 to 60 seconds or heat water on the stove and test with your finger to reach the ideal temperature that is comfortingly warm but not too hot to drink.
If you use water that’s any hotter, the protein and enzymes will very likely become denatured and some of the starches will begin to cook. The result could be a shake that’s unappealingly curdled and sticky. In addition, some of the vitamins—specifically the B vitamins like folic acid—could be lost if you try to prepare a shake with water that’s too hot.
How to Prepare a Warm Isagenix Shake
The best way to make a warm shake is to heat up your water or milk first—such as in a kettle or the microwave for about a minute. Make sure it’s at a comfortable drinking temperature that is not too hot. Next, whisk or blend the warm liquid with the IsaLean Shake until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency. You might find you prefer to add a little more or less liquid than you normally do when preparing your shake warm. Start with 8 ounces of liquid and adjust to your taste.
Preparing a warm shake in your Isagenix PROMiXX blender is not recommended because warm water can create pressure in the tightly sealed container and result in a splattering mess when you open the blender. One option is to use a small whisk or fork in a tall mug to prepare your shake. An immersion blender is another way to blend your shake that is safe to use with hot liquids.
